What is my warranty, and how do I get warranty service?
The duration of your warranty period depends on the component or system you purchased. Used systems and components have a 30 day limited warranty. New componenets have a 90 day warranty. New systems have a 1 year warranty. Details about warranty and warranty service can be found at the TCS Warranty page.
Can I return something that I bought from The Computer Store?
Items that are returnable are subject to a restocking fee. The balance is returned as in-store credit only. Details regarding our return policy are available at the TCS Return Policy page
Why do you charge a restocking fee when you accept a return?
All Systems or components that are made available for sale are either tested by the Power Techs or are New unused. All components that are returned must be retested and packaged. All systems must be re-certified. This re-certification includes our "Comprehensive Hardware Diagnostics", a system wipe, and possibly a reload. Even if you tell us you have done nothing with the component or system, we have to make sure we are not reselling something that has been compromised. As a customer you expect that of us prior to purchasing a component or system.
I bought something that is no longer working. Can I just return it?

If your item has failed and is a returnable item, you may be able to return it. Please refer to the TCS Return Policy page. If your item has failed within your warranty period, but not with in the return period, you can not return the item, but you can may request warranty service.
How long does it take to get warranty service? Can I just get an exchange right away?
First you must bring the item to The Computer Store and fill out a warranty verificaiton form. Next, the item will be tested to see if it has failures from manufacures defects. Depending on the component or system, this may take some time. You should expect to leave it for the tests. If it is possible, we will test it right away, but this is not usually the case.
No you can not just exchange an item under warranty service. The item must be tested first. Please refer to the TCS Warranty page for details.
I bought a component from The Computer Store and I cant get it to work. What should I do?
First you should read any documentation on installation and operation of the component to make sure you are following correct procedures. Second you should make sure you have the latest drivers and software for the component. There are links to manufactures support sites at the Drivers and Manuals page. You can also check the TCS Support page for how-to videos and documents. If that does not fix it, you should bring the item in to The Computer Store. If the item is with in the warranty period please refer to the TCS Warranty page. If it is not, please refer to the Service & Repair page for your options and associated fees.
