The duration of your warranty period depends on the component
or system you purchased. Used systems and components have a
30 day limited warranty. New componenets have a 90 day
warranty. New systems have a 1 year warranty. Details about

Items that are returnable are subject to a restocking fee. The
balance is returned as in-store credit only. Details regarding our
return policy are available at the TCS Return Policy page
All Systems or components that are made available for sale are
either tested by the Power Techs or are New unused. All
components that are returned must be retested and packaged. All
systems must be re-certified. This re-certification includes our
"Comprehensive Hardware Diagnostics", a system wipe, and
possibly a reload. Even if you tell us you have done nothing with
the component or system, we have to make sure we are not
reselling something that has been compromised. As a customer
you expect that of us prior to purchasing a component or system.
If an item has failed within your warranty period, you may be
eligible for warranty service. Please refer to the TCS Warranty
page. If your item has failed and is a returnable item, you may be
able to return it. Please refer to the TCS Return Policy page. If
your item has failed within your warranty period, but not with in
the return period, you can not return the item, but you can may
request warranty service.
First you must bring the item to The Computer Store and fill out
a warranty verificaiton form. Next, the item will be tested to see
if it has failures from manufacures defects. Depending on the
component or system, this may take some time. You should
expect to leave it for the tests. If it is possible, we will test it right
away, but this is not usually the case.
No you can not just exchange an item under warranty service.
The item must be tested first. Please refer to the TCS Warranty
page for details.
First you should read any documentation on installation and
operation of the component to make sure you are following
correct procedures. Second you should make sure you have the
latest drivers and software for the component. There are links to
manufactures support sites at the Drivers and Manuals page. You
can also check the TCS Support page for how-to videos and
documents. If that does not fix it, you should bring the item in to
The Computer Store. If the item is with in the warranty period
please refer to the TCS Warranty page. If it is not, please refer to
the Service & Repair page for your options and associated fees.
